Welcome back to Losing My Six Figure Job! My last day has finally arrived.
It was a somber drive to the office this morning. My emotions were all over the place. From excitement for what’s next in my journey to feeling sad to be leaving my team behind.
The team surprised me last week with a luncheon at my favorite place. We laughed and told “remember when” stories about the last 6 years we have all spent together. It was awesome and I will miss them all very much.
My last day started out just like any other day, other than…..it would be my last time to perform any of the tasks that I did that day. Like driving to that office, using my badge, logging into my computer, sitting in my office that overlooked the golf course and everything else.
However, there was one major hiccup.
I ended up having to stay late because the IT department accidentally turned off my system access at 11am on my last day. This was super annoying considering that it took them 4 hours to get it back up and running. I would have loved to leave at 11 but there were several things that I needed to complete prior to leaving for the last time.
I just laughed and said to myself…… Don’t stress about it….this is the last time you have to deal with these types of issues.
The end of the day finally arrived and I handed out a few cards to some of my colleagues that I would consider my friends. I said my final goodbye’s and drove off into the sunset.
Ok, I actually drove off into traffic!
It seemed very strange that this day had finally arrived. I can’t wait to share my journey about what new side hustles I have been working on since my last day.
So stay tuned and thanks again for visiting my blog.
Until next time my friends, Christie
